Rules for preparing for diagnostic tests

The quality of the examination and its PAINLESSness depend on good preparation !!!

1. PREPARATION FOR FGDS:

Bring with you: a towel, the results of previous examinations (if any), a referral, an outpatient card, fear. policy.

The examination is carried out strictly on an empty stomach.

On the day before the study, the last meal is a light dinner until 20:00.

Do not smoke before testing!

2. PREPARATION FOR FIBROCOLONOSCOPY:

DO NOT PREPARE ONE DIET FOR THE STUDY: YOU CAN NOT EAT FOR A LONG TIME, BUT THE CUTE WILL NOT BE CLEAN - IT IS NECESSARY TO PREPARE.

5-7 days before the FSC, exclude the intake of medications containing iron, vitamin E, Ginkor

IN 3 DAYS, EXCLUDE VEGETABLES, FRUITS, CORN, BLACK BREAD, PRODUCTS CONTAINING NUTS, MAC, SEEDS, CEREALS and BRAN, GREENS, including in soup, bread crumbs, buns, cakes, sweets.

1. METHOD OF PREPARATION

on the day preceding the study, at 14.00, drink 60-80 grams of castor oil, in the evening 2 enemas with cool water, 1.5-2.0 liters each. DRINK MORE LIQUID!

On the day of the study, in the morning, repeat the enemas to clean water.

2. METHOD OF PREPARATION:

OR WITHOUT CLISM with strict adherence to a slag-free diet according to the instructions for FLIT or FORTRANS 4 packets, regardless of weight.

3. PREPARATION FOR RECTOROMANOSCOPY.

Functional diagnostic methods requiring preliminary preparation

24-hour ECG monitoring

Men are advised to shave the hair from the chest for a good fixation of the electrodes and to obtain a high-quality recording.

Cardiorespiratory monitoring

On the day of the study, it is necessary to exclude daytime sleep.

Transesophageal pacing (TEEKS) - electrophysiological examination of the heart (EPI)

  1. The study is carried out strictly on an empty stomach.
  2. Have with you the results of studies: ECG, ECG monitoring, EchoCG (echocardiography).

Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE, EchoCG)

It is recommended to have an ECG with you.

Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)

  1. An appointment from the attending physician indicating the diagnosis and the purpose of the study.
  2. Results of ultrasound of the heart (echocardiography).
  3. FGS data or X-ray examination with barium to exclude pathology of the esophagus and stomach.
  4. Blood test for HIV, hepatitis B, C.
  5. INR values ​​for prosthetic valves and for patients taking anticoagulants (warfarin). A high INR is a contraindication to research.
  6. During a pandemic of a new coronavirus infection, a negative swab from the pharynx and nose for Covid.
  7. On the day of the study, the patient is advised not to eat or drink for at least 6-8 hours before the procedure (strictly on an empty stomach).
  8. If the patient needs to take this or that drug, it is necessary to drink it with a small sip of water.
  9. If the patient suffers from diabetes mellitus, he needs to take medications and a glucometer with him, which will make it possible to correct the blood glucose level in a timely manner.
  10. Immediately before the examination, the patient must remove the dentures.

Duplex scanning of the veins of the lower extremities (if it is supposed to study the veins of the pelvis)

The study is carried out on an empty stomach (the "hungry" period before the study should be at least 8 hours, including if the study is scheduled at lunchtime and in the evening).

A deviation from the proposed recommendations is allowed for diseases requiring regular medication and strict adherence to the diet.

2-3 days before the date of the study, exclude from the diet food that causes increased gas production in the intestine (raw vegetables, legumes, fruits, black bread, milk, vegetable juices, carbonated drinks, confectionery). Patients suffering from flatulence should take 2-3 days before the study:

  • 1 tab. 3 times a day, activated carbon or espumisan;
  • 1 tab. 3 times a day with meals mezim or festal, or penzital;
  • on the day of the study - on an empty stomach, take 5 tablets of espumisan.

In some cases, preliminary preparation is not required (for emergency research).

Load testing (bicycle ergometry, treadmill test)

  1. Light meal 1.5-2 hours before the test.
  2. Do not drink strong tea, coffee, alcohol; for an hour before the sample, smoking is prohibited.
  3. Cancellation of ß-blockers in 48 hours, nitrates in 24 hours (as recommended by a cardiologist).
  4. For a high-quality ECG recording, it is necessary to shave off the hair from the chest.
  5. It is imperative to have with you the results of ECG, EchoCG (echocardiography, ultrasound of the heart), if available - daily monitoring of the ECG, an outpatient card, a towel.
  6. Comfortable clothing and footwear that do not restrict movement is recommended.

Stress echocardiography

  1. Cancellation of ß-blockers in 48-72 hours, nitrates in 24 hours (as recommended by a cardiologist).
  2. Be sure to have with you the results of ECG, EchoCG (echocardiography, ultrasound of the heart), if available - the results of daily monitoring of the ECG, a towel.

In connection with the administration of the drug intravenously, the study is carried out in a hospital setting.

Respiratory function (FVD), spirography

Do not take bronchodilators 6 hours before the examination, if the patient's condition allows.

Stop smoking before testing (at least 2 hours).

It is advisable to be at rest before the study.

Ultrasound examination of nerve trunks

It is recommended to have the results of electroneuromyography (ENMG) with you.

Visual evoked potentials

In the presence of myopia, vision correction (glasses, lenses) is necessary.

For the rest of the functional studies, preliminary preparation is not required.

When visiting any diagnostic procedure, it is recommended to have a napkin and towel with you.
